sshbar is a free menu-bar app for macOS that turns your ~/.ssh/config into a click-to-connect menu, and runs your SSH tunnels and key manager from the same small panel.
If you've ever saved a server in ~/.ssh/config (the file ssh uses to remember connection settings), sshbar shows it as a menu item. Click it and a session opens in your terminal, with whatever user, port, and key your config defines. Never made that file? The manual starts at the beginning.
A tunnel makes a port on your Mac connect to a service hiding behind a server: a database, a staging dashboard, an internal API. sshbar starts and stops tunnels in the background with a switch; a status dot tells you each one is up. No terminal window to babysit.
Browse every key in ~/.ssh, copy a public key with one click, import a key you've been given, or generate a fresh one. No Finder digging, no ssh-keygen flags to remember.
sshbar auto-detects the terminals installed on your Mac and opens sessions there, with no configuration. Terminal.app is the fallback, so it always works.
A global shortcut opens the panel from anywhere, then arrow keys and Enter drive everything. Type to search, hit Enter, you're connected.
macOS 13 (Ventura) or later, and it picks up the Liquid Glass look on macOS 26. Signed and notarized. Free.
